Product Description A 75 kW three-phase industrial variable speed drive designed for precise control of asynchronous motor speed across 400–500 V AC installations.

What type of equipment is this drive designed to control?

This variable speed drive is designed to control three-phase asynchronous motors by regulating their output frequency and voltage.

What motor power rating does the drive support?

The drive is rated for a 75 kW asynchronous motor across its specified 400 to 500 V supply range. This is equivalent to approximately 100 hp.

What input voltage does the drive require?

ATV68C10N4 operates from a three-phase 400 to 500 V AC supply, with a stated voltage tolerance of -10% to +10%.

What supply frequency range is supported?

The rated supply frequency is 50 to 60 Hz, with network frequency limits of 47.5 to 63 Hz.

What output frequency range can the drive provide?

The drive provides an adjustable output frequency from 0 to 300 Hz, enabling motor speed to be varied according to the application.

What is the drive's line current?

The specified line current is 133 A at 400 V, 121 A at 440 V and 106 A at 500 V. The appropriate figure depends on the applied supply voltage and installation conditions.

What continuous output current is available?

The continuous output current is 129 A at 400 V, 124 A at 440 V, 121 A at 460 V and 113 A at 500 V.

Does the drive include an EMC filter?

No. This version of the Altivar 68C drive is specified without an integrated EMC filter.

What communication protocol is provided as standard?

The drive supports Modbus communication through an RS485 multidrop serial interface, with transmission rates from 9.6 to 19.2 kbaud.

Which optional communication networks can be used?

Compatible option cards were specified for CANopen, Ethernet, Uni-Telway, AS-Interface, Profibus DP, Fipio, Modbus Plus, DeviceNet and Interbus-S. Card compatibility should be confirmed against the configuration of the individual drive.

Does the drive have a local display?

Yes. It is equipped with a graphic display terminal for local indication and parameter access.

What are the drive's dimensions?

The unit measures 600 mm high, 346 mm wide and 355 mm deep. These dimensions should be considered when planning enclosure space, cable access and ventilation clearances.

What is the enclosure protection rating?

The drive has an IP00 protection rating, meaning it is an open-format unit without protection against contact or water ingress. It is therefore normally installed within a suitable electrical enclosure.

What operating temperature range is specified?

The specified ambient operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C. The storage temperature range is -25°C to 70°C.

Can the drive be installed above 1,000 metres?

Yes, but output derating is required between 1,000 and 2,000 metres. The specified derating rate is 1% for every additional 100 metres above 1,000 metres.

What switching frequency does the drive use?

The nominal switching frequency is 2.5 kHz. It can be adjusted from 2.5 to 8 kHz, although higher settings require current derating.

Is the output voltage higher than the incoming supply voltage?

No. The maximum output voltage is specified as being equal to or lower than the drive's supply voltage.

Which applications are suitable for this drive?

As a 75 kW variable speed drive for asynchronous motors, it can be used in compatible industrial installations requiring controlled acceleration, deceleration and motor speed regulation, including pump and fan applications.

  • Variable-speed control of three-phase asynchronous motors
  • Pump speed regulation in water treatment and process systems
  • Fan and ventilation control in HVAC installations
  • Conveyor control in manufacturing and materials handling
  • Speed adjustment for industrial mixers and agitators
  • Motor control for compressors and pumping stations
  • Process line control requiring adjustable motor speeds
  • Energy-efficient operation of high-power motor-driven equipment
  • Speed control for industrial centrifuges and rotating machinery
  • Integration into automated production and process-control systems
