Schneider Electric ZBRRA is a Harmony XB5R programmable receiver designed to interface wireless, batteryless pushbutton transmitters with control circuits and actuators. Powered from a wide 24 to 240 V AC/DC supply at 50/60 Hz, it mounts neatly on a 35 mm DIN rail and provides two changeover (C/O) relay outputs for flexible switching. The receiver supports monostable, bistable and stop/start operating modes, with on-board pushbuttons for setup and clear, at-a-glance status indication via six LEDs (power, relay states, function mode and reception signal). Operating on 2.4 GHz Zigbee Green Power (IEEE 802.15.4), it offers fast response and a practical solution for reducing control wiring while maintaining straightforward panel integration. The unit features galvanic isolation between input and output, IP20 protection, and a compact housing measuring approximately 108 mm (H) × 36 mm (W) × 75 mm (D).

What does this programmable receiver do in a control panel?

It acts as an interface between wireless, batteryless Harmony XB5R transmitters and hardwired control circuits, using two internal relays to switch loads or control signals.

What supply voltage can it be powered from?

It accepts a wide supply range of 24 to 240 V AC/DC at 50/60 Hz (with a tolerance of ±10%).

How is it mounted?

It is designed for mounting on a 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail (IEC 60715) and can also be mounted on a plate.

How many outputs does it provide, and what type are they?

It provides 2 relay outputs with 2 changeover (C/O) contacts, with galvanic isolation between input and output.

What are the relay contact ratings?

Typical ratings include 1.5 A at 240 V AC (IEC 60947-5-1) and 0.3 A at 48 V DC (IEC 60947-5-1). For UL/CSA applications, typical ratings include up to 3 A at 120/240 V AC and 3 A at 24 V DC (UL 508 / CSA C22.2 No 14). Maximum switching voltage is 250 V AC/DC and minimum switching current is 5 mA AC/DC.

Which operating modes are supported?

It supports monostable, bistable, and stop/start functions, enabling common control behaviours such as momentary action, latching, and start/stop control.

What radio technology does it use?

It communicates using Zigbee Green Power in the 2.4 GHz band (IEEE 802.15.4), with an omnidirectional antenna and O-QPSK modulation.

What is the typical wireless range?

Typical maximum sensing distance is up to 100 m in free field. In more challenging installations, typical guidance includes around 25 m when the transmitter is in a plastic box and the receiver is in a metal enclosure, and around 40 m when using a relay-antenna arrangement.

How fast does it respond to a transmitter press?

Response time is typically under 30 ms after a transmitter click.

What status indications are available on the front of the unit?

It provides multiple LEDs: 1 green LED for power on, 2 green LEDs for relay on, 2 green LEDs for function mode, and a green/yellow indicator for reception signal.

What enclosure protection rating does it have?

The unit is rated IP20 for both the casing and terminals, intended for installation inside a suitable control cabinet.

What wiring sizes can be used on the terminals?

Typical terminal capacity includes solid conductors from 0.14 to 2.5 mm², and flexible conductors up to 4 mm² when fitted with cable ends (subject to the specific terminal positions). Tightening torque is typically 0.5 to 1 N·m.

Are there any recommended protective measures for the supply?

A fast-blow fuse rated at 0.4 A is specified for short-circuit protection on the supply side.

What are the physical dimensions of the unit?

Typical overall dimensions are approximately 108 mm (height) × 36 mm (width) × 75 mm (depth). The unit is commonly referenced as Schneider ZBRRA in documentation and listings.

  • Receiving commands from Harmony XB5R wireless, batteryless pushbuttons to control two relay outputs in industrial control panels
  • Enabling start/stop control of motors, pumps, and fans where running new control wiring is impractical
