The Schneider XMLA010A2S12 is an electromechanical pressure switch from the Telemecanique/OsiSense XM range, designed for control circuit applications requiring detection of a single pressure threshold. Rated for a pressure sensor size of 10 bar, it supports adjustable switching on rising pressure from 0.6 to 10 bar and on falling pressure from 0.1 to 9.5 bar, with a fixed natural differential of 0.5 bar.

Built with a diaphragm actuator and zinc alloy enclosure, the XMLA010A2S12 is suitable for use with air, fresh water and hydraulic oil at fluid temperatures from 0 to 70 °C. It features a G 1/4 female fluid connection, an M20 x 1.5 electrical entry and screw-clamp terminals for secure wiring. The unit provides one changeover contact with snap-action operation and silver contact material, supporting AC-15 and DC-13 control circuit ratings.

With IP66 protection, external setting, local display and operation in any mounting position, this pressure switch is well suited for industrial pressure monitoring and machine control environments. It offers a mechanical durability of 5,000,000 cycles, repeat accuracy of 2%, and resistance to shock and vibration in accordance with recognised industrial standards.

What type of component is this?

This is an electromechanical pressure switch designed to monitor fluid pressure and change contact state when a set threshold is reached. It is part of Schneider Electric’s Telemecanique pressure sensor range.

What pressure range can it be set to monitor?

The switching point can be adjusted from 0.6 to 10 bar on rising pressure, and from 0.1 to 9.5 bar on falling pressure.

What fluids is it intended to work with?

It is specified for use with air, fresh water and hydraulic oil within a fluid temperature range of 0 to 70 °C.

What type of pressure connection does it use?

The unit uses a G 1/4 female fluid connection conforming to ISO 228, commonly referred to as a BSP female connection.

What type of electrical connection is provided?

It uses screw-clamp terminals and has one ISO M20 cable entry suitable for cable glands with an outside cable diameter of 7 to 13 mm.

What contact arrangement does it have?

The pressure switch has one changeover contact, also described as 1 C/O. This allows the circuit to switch between normally open and normally closed contact states.

What is the maximum permissible accidental pressure?

The maximum permissible accidental pressure is 22.5 bar, while the destruction pressure is specified as 45 bar.

What is the rated current of the contacts?

The rated current is 3 A at 120 V AC-15, 1.5 A at 240 V AC-15 and 0.1 A at 250 V DC-13, in accordance with EN/IEC 60947-5-1.

What is the natural differential of the switch?

The natural differential is 0.5 bar, with a tolerance of ±0.05 bar, at both low and high settings.

What level of ingress protection does it provide?

The enclosure is rated IP66 to EN/IEC 60529, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and powerful water jets when correctly installed.

What are the approximate dimensions?

The body measures approximately 113 mm high, 75 mm deep and 35 mm wide.

What is the approximate weight?

The net weight is approximately 0.685 kg.

What ambient temperature range can it operate in?

It is rated for operation in ambient air temperatures from -25 to 70 °C.

Can it be installed in any orientation?

Yes. The operating position is specified as any position, giving flexibility when fitting it into a machine or control panel arrangement.

What materials are in contact with the fluid?

The wetted materials include FPM, FKM and zinc alloy.

Does it have a diaphragm actuator?

Yes. The pressure actuator is a diaphragm type, suitable for detecting the pressure threshold in compatible fluids.
