What type of device is this?

This is a TeSys Deca differential thermal overload relay designed to protect electric motors against overload conditions and phase failure.

What is the adjustable current range?

The thermal protection setting can be adjusted from 16 A to 24 A, allowing the relay to be matched to the motor's rated current.

What trip class does this overload relay use?

The relay has a Class 10A tripping characteristic in accordance with IEC 60947-4-1.

Which contactors are compatible with this relay?

The LRD226 is compatible with Schneider TeSys contactors including the LC1D25, LC1D32, and LC1D38.

Can this relay detect a phase failure?

Yes. It has phase-failure sensitivity and is designed to trip when an imbalance caused by a missing phase reaches the specified threshold.

What auxiliary contacts are included?

The relay includes one normally open contact and one normally closed contact for use in control and signaling circuits.

What controls are provided on the relay?

It has a red stop push button and a blue reset push button for local operation.

How can the relay be mounted?

It can be mounted directly beneath a compatible contactor. Plate and rail mounting are also possible when the appropriate accessories are used.

What are the operating temperature limits?

The relay operates without derating at ambient temperatures from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). Its specified storage temperature range is -60°C to 70°C (-76°F to 158°F).

What is the enclosure protection rating?

The device has an IP20 protection rating in accordance with IEC 60529.

What are the dimensions of the relay?

The unit measures approximately 66 mm high, 45 mm wide, and 70 mm deep.

How much does the relay weigh?

The net weight is approximately 0.124 kg, equivalent to about 0.27 lb.

What electrical networks can it be used with?

The relay is suitable for AC and DC networks, with a specified frequency range of 0 to 400 Hz.

What is the rated insulation voltage?

The power circuit has a rated insulation voltage of 690 V under IEC requirements and 600 V under UL and CSA requirements.

What terminal types are used?

The control circuit uses screw-clamp terminals that accept 1 to 2.5 mm² conductors. The power circuit uses M4 ring-lug terminals.

What tightening torque should be applied to the terminals?

The specified tightening torque is 1.7 N·m for the control-circuit screw-clamp terminals and 2.3 N·m for the M4 power-circuit ring-lug terminals.

Does the relay compensate for ambient temperature changes?

Yes. The LRD226 includes temperature compensation across its specified operating range to help maintain consistent overload protection.

Which standards does the relay conform to?

The relay conforms to applicable IEC, EN, UL, CSA, and GB/T standards for motor control and electromechanical control-circuit devices, including IEC 60947-4-1 and IEC 60947-5-1.
