What type of component is this?

This is an electronic thermal overload relay from the TeSys LRF range, designed to protect AC motors against sustained overload conditions and phase failure.

What is the thermal protection adjustment range?

The overload setting can be adjusted from 90 A to 150 A, allowing the relay to be matched to the motor's rated full-load current.

Which thermal trip classes are supported?

The relay supports selectable Class 10 and Class 20 thermal tripping in accordance with IEC 60947-4.

Which contactors are compatible with this overload relay?

The LR9F69 is compatible with LC1F115 through LC1F185 contactors and can be mounted directly onto a suitable contactor.

Does the relay provide a pre-alarm indication?

Yes. A pre-alarm indicator warns that the monitored current is approaching the overload trip level, helping operators identify developing load problems.

What supply is required for the alarm circuit?

The alarm circuit has a rated supply of 24 V DC and accepts an operating range of 17 V DC to 32 V DC.

What auxiliary contacts are included?

The device includes one normally open contact and one normally closed contact. The conventional free-air thermal current rating for the control circuit is 5 A.

How is the relay reset after an overload trip?

The relay uses manual reset. It also includes test, reset and red stop push-buttons, a full-load current adjustment dial and selectors for load balancing and trip class.

How does the relay respond to phase failure?

Phase-loss sensitivity is built in. Under the specified phase-failure condition, the relay trips in approximately four seconds, with a tolerance of plus or minus 20 per cent.

What are the alarm and trip thresholds?

The pre-alarm threshold is 1.05 times the selected current setting, with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.06 In. The trip threshold is 1.12 times the setting with the same tolerance.

What mounting options are available?

The unit can be fitted directly to a compatible contactor or installed using a mounting plate. The LA7F901 mounting plate is compatible with this relay.

What are the dimensions and weight?

The relay measures 96 mm high, 115 mm wide and 123.5 mm deep. Its approximate weight is 0.885 kg.

What are the permitted operating and storage temperatures?

The specified ambient operating range is -20°C to 55°C. The storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, while internal temperature compensation covers -20°C to 70°C.

What level of enclosure protection does the device provide?

The device is rated IP20 in accordance with IEC 60529, making it suitable for installation inside an appropriate electrical enclosure.

What connections are used for the power circuit?

The power circuit uses M8 ring-lug terminals. The specified tightening torque for these terminals is 18 N m.

What conductor sizes are accepted by the control terminals?

Depending on conductor type and termination, the screw-clamp control terminals accept conductors from 0.75 mm² to 4 mm². The specified control-terminal tightening torque is 1.2 N m.

What electrical voltage ratings apply to the power circuit?

The power circuit has a rated operational and insulation voltage of 1,000 V AC. Its rated impulse withstand voltage is 8 kV.

Which standards and certifications apply?

The relay is associated with IEC 60947-4-1, IEC 60255-8, IEC 60255-17 and VDE 0660. Listed product certifications include UL, CSA and UKCA.
