Schneider LR3D05 is a TeSys Deca thermal overload relay designed for motor protection in industrial control applications. It provides adjustable thermal protection from 0.63 to 1 A and is rated for use on power circuits up to 690 V AC, making it suitable for low-current motor starter assemblies. The relay features Class 10A tripping characteristics, phase failure sensitivity, and a 1 NO + 1 NC auxiliary contact arrangement for signalling and control integration.

This non-differential overload relay is compatible with Schneider LC1D09, LC1D12, LC1D18, LC1D25, LC1D32 and LC1D38 contactors, and can be mounted directly beneath a contactor or installed on a rail or plate with suitable accessories. Screw clamp terminals support secure wiring for both power and control circuits, while the red stop and blue reset push-buttons provide straightforward local operation.

With an IP20 protection rating, 6 kV impulse withstand capability and operation across -20 to 60 °C without derating, the LR3D05 is well suited to control panels, motor starters, machinery systems and automation installations requiring reliable overload protection for small motors.

What type of component is this?

This is a non-differential thermal overload relay from the TeSys Deca / TeSys LRD range. It is designed for motor protection by detecting overload conditions and opening the control circuit when the current exceeds the set threshold.

What current range can the overload relay be set to?

The thermal protection adjustment range is 0.63 to 1 A, making it suitable for small motor loads within that current band.

What overload trip class does it use?

It uses Class 10A thermal overload protection in accordance with IEC 60947-4-1. This class is commonly used where relatively fast overload tripping is required for motor protection.

What voltage ratings apply to the power circuit?

The power circuit is rated up to 690 V AC according to IEC 60947-4-1, and up to 600 V according to UL and CSA ratings.

Which contactors is it compatible with?

It is listed for use with LC1D09, LC1D12, LC1D18, LC1D25, LC1D32 and LC1D38 contactors, depending on the installation arrangement.

What auxiliary contacts are included?

The relay includes 1 normally open and 1 normally closed auxiliary contact, often described as 1 NO + 1 NC, for signalling and control circuit functions.

How is the relay mounted?

It can be mounted directly under a compatible contactor. It may also be mounted on a plate or rail when the appropriate mounting accessories are used.

What terminals does it use?

The unit uses screw clamp terminals for both the power and control circuits. The recommended tightening torque is 1.7 N.m for both terminal groups.

What are the approximate dimensions?

The approximate dimensions are 66 mm high, 45 mm wide and 70 mm deep. The net weight is approximately 0.124 kg.

What operating temperature range is specified?

The specified operating temperature range is -20 to 60 °C without derating, according to IEC 60947-4-1. The storage temperature range is -60 to 70 °C.

What degree of ingress protection does it have?

The relay has an IP20 degree of protection in accordance with IEC 60529, meaning it is intended for use within a suitable enclosure or panel environment.

Does it include phase failure sensitivity?

Yes. The device has phase failure sensitivity, with a tripping current of 130% of Ir on two phases when the remaining phase is at zero.

What reset and stop controls are fitted?

The relay has a red stop push-button and a blue reset push-button, allowing manual interaction with the overload function at the device.

Which standards and approvals are associated with it?

The relay is associated with standards including EN/IEC 60947-4-1, EN/IEC 60947-5-1, UL 60947-4-1, UL 60947-5-1, CSA C22.2 No. 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No. 60947-5-1, GB/T 14048.4, GB/T 14048.5 and EN 50495. Listed certifications include IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, BV, RINA, DNV-GL, Lloyd’s Register, ATEX INERIS and UKCA.

What is the recommended fuse rating for the signalling circuit?

The associated fuse rating for the signalling circuit is 4 A gG or 4 A BS.
