What type of electrical device is this?

It is a miniature circuit-breaker from the Acti9 iC60 range, designed for distribution applications. The A9F93463 is a 4-pole thermal-magnetic breaker with a 63 A rated current and B curve tripping characteristics.

What does the B curve rating mean?

A B curve breaker is intended to trip at a relatively low magnetic threshold compared with C or D curve devices. For this unit, the magnetic tripping limit is 4 x In ±20%, making it suitable for circuits where high inrush current is not expected.

How many poles does this circuit-breaker have?

This device has 4 poles, and all 4 poles are protected. It is intended for multi-pole AC or DC circuit protection arrangements where the electrical design calls for a 4P breaker.

What is the rated current?

The rated current is 63 A. This means the breaker is designed for circuits where a 63 ampere rating is appropriate, subject to the wider panel design and installation requirements.

What standards does it conform to?

The device conforms to IEC 60947-2 and EN 60947-2. It is also suitable for isolation according to these standards.

What breaking capacity does it offer?

The breaking capacity depends on voltage and supply type. It is rated at 15 kA Icu at 380...415 V AC, 10 kA Icu at 440 V AC, 30 kA Icu at 220...240 V AC, and 20 kA Icu at up to 250 V DC.

Can it be used on AC and DC networks?

Yes. The device is specified for both AC and DC network types. For AC use, it is rated for 50/60 Hz networks.

How is the device mounted?

It is designed for fixed mounting on a DIN rail. Its modular width is 8 x 9 mm pitches, with overall dimensions of 85 mm height, 72 mm width and 78.5 mm depth.

What terminal sizes are accepted?

The terminals accept 1...35 mm² rigid conductors or 1...25 mm² flexible conductors. The specified wire stripping length is 14 mm, with a tightening torque of 3.5 N.m.

Does it include trip and contact indication?

Yes. The unit has a toggle control, a trip indicator for local signalling, and a contact position indicator.

What environmental conditions is it rated for?

It has an IP20 degree of protection and is rated for operation from -35°C to 70°C. Storage temperature is specified from -40°C to 85°C, with relative humidity up to 95% at 55°C.

Is it compatible with busbar distribution arrangements?

Yes. The device is compatible with comb busbars and distribution blocks at the top or bottom, helping it integrate into modular distribution assemblies.

  • Protecting four-pole AC distribution circuits against overloads and short circuits
  • Use in industrial control panels where 63 A circuit protection is required
  • Isolation and protection of three-phase circuits with neutral in commercial electrical installations
  • Integration into DIN rail-mounted distribution boards and switchgear assemblies
  • Protection of feeder circuits supplying machinery, plant equipment and automation systems
  • Use in building services panels for HVAC, lighting distribution and power distribution circuits
  • Protecting circuits in facilities requiring B-curve thermal-magnetic tripping characteristics
  • Installation in electrical enclosures where compact 72 mm wide four-pole protection is needed
  • Use in systems requiring compliance with IEC 60947-2 and EN 60947-2 circuit-breaker standards
  • Protection of DC circuits within the rated voltage and breaking capacity of the device
