The float switch is designed to detect the limit value of fluids within a container. It contains a microswitch that is activated when there is a deviation from the horizontal position, indicating a change in the fluid level.
The float switch is suitable for use with a range of fluids, particularly those with a density of 0.8 g/cm3 or higher. It is preferred for use with fuels, heating oils, and oily fluids.
The float switch can handle contact loading of 250 V AC/3 A with a resistive load, 150 V DC/0.25 A resistive load, and 60 V DC/1 A resistive load. It has a rated insulation voltage of 300 V and a pulse withstand voltage of 4 kV.
The float switch can be mounted from the side through a cable gland of size G1A or from the top using a counter weight or rods. The pivot of the cable should always be horizontal to ensure proper functioning.
The operating temperature range for the float switch is between 5 to 70 degrees Celsius (41 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit).
The float switch is rated with a degree of protection of IP68, indicating that it is dust tight and can withstand immersion in water under specified conditions.
The float of the switch is made from Polypropylene (PP), and the cable is made from highly flexible Polyurethane (PUR) with a cross-section of 3 x 0.50 mm2.
The float switch has a diameter of approximately 29.2 mm and a cable length of 5 meters.
To ensure correct operation, the float switch should be installed with the pivot of the cable kept horizontal, and the cable length between the fixture and the floating body should be appropriate for the type of cable used.
Accessories available for the float switch include a gland screw connection (LFL-Z132-EMS) and a ballast weight for the float switch (LFL-Z32-EMS).
