Festo 159607 is an FRC-1-D-MAXI service unit designed to prepare compressed air for pneumatic systems by combining filtration, pressure regulation and lubrication in one in-line assembly. Built in the MAXI size (Series D), it features a filter regulator with an analogue pressure gauge for clear, at-a-glance monitoring, plus a proportional standard mist lubricator to support stable downstream lubrication where lubricated operation is required.

This unit offers a 40 µm filtration grade and a manually rotating condensate drain with a maximum condensate volume of 80 cm³, helping maintain consistent air quality and reduce moisture-related issues. Pressure is set via a rotary knob with detent (actuator lock) for secure adjustment, with an operating pressure range of 1 to 16 bar and a regulation range of 0.5 to 12 bar. High flow performance up to 8500 l/min (standardised to DIN 1343) makes it well suited to higher-demand air circuits.

Designed for vertical installation (±5°), it includes a metal bowl guard for added protection. Connections are G1 on port 1 and port 2. The housing is die-cast zinc with a PC bowl, suitable for media temperatures from -10 °C to +60 °C, and the product is RoHS-compliant.

What does this service unit do in a pneumatic system?

It combines air filtration, pressure regulation (with an analogue pressure gauge), and proportional mist lubrication in one inline assembly, helping prepare compressed air for downstream pneumatic components.

What are the main functional elements included?

A filter regulator with pressure gauge and a proportional standard mist lubricator, plus a manual, rotating condensate drain and a metal bowl guard.

What filtration level does it provide?

The filter grade is 40 µm, suitable for general pneumatic air preparation where fine particulate removal is required before regulation and lubrication.

What is the operating pressure range?

Operating pressure is 1 to 16 bar (0.1 to 1.6 MPa), depending on application conditions and upstream supply stability.

What pressure regulation range can it be set to?

The adjustable regulation range is 0.5 to 12 bar.

Does it include a pressure indicator?

Yes. This configuration is supplied with an analogue pressure gauge for local pressure indication.

What is the typical flow capacity?

The standard nominal flow rate is 8500 l/min (standardised to DIN 1343). Actual flow will depend on inlet pressure, set pressure, and system pressure drops.

What mounting orientation is required?

It is intended for vertical installation with a permissible deviation of ±5°, supporting proper condensate collection and drainage.

How is condensate drained from the bowl?

It uses a manually operated, rotating condensate drain.

What pneumatic connection size does it use?

Both port 1 and port 2 are G1 (BSPP) threaded connections, suited to higher-flow “Maxi” air preparation layouts.

Which media can be used with this unit?

It is designed for compressed air (per ISO 8573-1) and can also be used with inert gases. Lubricated operation is possible; if lubrication is used, continued lubricated operation is typically required to maintain consistent downstream conditions.

What are the permissible ambient and medium temperatures?

Both ambient temperature and media temperature are rated from -10 °C to +60 °C.

What materials are used for the housing and bowl?

The housing is die-cast zinc and the bowl is polycarbonate (PC). The assembly also includes a metal bowl guard.

Approximately how heavy is the unit?

The product weight is approximately 2520 g. For reference, this corresponds to the Festo configuration commonly referenced as 159607.
