SICK GRTB18S-P2317 is a compact cylindrical photoelectric sensor designed for reliable object detection at short to medium distances. Using a visible red PinPoint LED (650 nm) with background suppression, it helps distinguish targets from surrounding surfaces for stable switching in space‑constrained machine builds. The sensor features an M18 x 1 threaded housing (ABS) with durable PMMA optics and an IP67 enclosure rating for demanding industrial environments. Switching distance is adjustable via a 270° potentiometer, with a typical sensing range of 20 mm to 150 mm (up to 300 mm depending on target reflectivity). Clear status indication is provided by integrated green (power) and yellow (light reception/object) LEDs. Electrical connection is via an M12, 3‑pin connector. It operates on 10–30 V DC and provides a PNP switching output (light switching) with up to 100 mA output current, fast response (< 500 µs) and up to 1,000 Hz switching frequency, making it suitable for presence detection, counting and positioning tasks in automation and material handling applications.
