The Red Lion PAXP is a process input panel meter designed for accurate monitoring and display of industrial analogue process signals. As part of the PAX 1/8 DIN analogue panel meter range, it accepts common process inputs including 20 mA and 10 V DC signals, making it suitable for use with transmitters, sensors and control instrumentation across automation, manufacturing and process environments.

Featuring a clear 5-digit LED display, programmable scaling and a rugged panel-mounted design, the PAXP allows measured signals to be converted into meaningful engineering values for operators and maintenance teams. It supports configurable display resolution, filtering, totalising and min/max capture functions, helping users adapt the meter to a wide variety of measurement applications such as pressure, level, flow, speed or other process variables.

The unit also provides 24 V DC transmitter power, enabling straightforward integration with compatible 2-wire or 3-wire transmitters. Optional expansion cards can add setpoint alarm outputs, serial communication or retransmitted analogue output capability, allowing the PAXP to be tailored to more complex monitoring and control requirements. With its sealed front bezel, compact 1/8 DIN format and robust industrial construction, the Red Lion PAXP is well suited for control panels, machine interfaces and process indication applications.

What input signal ranges can the unit accept?

Electrical connections are made using screw-clamp terminals on the rear of the meter. The terminals accept copper conductors within the specified gauge range, and the wiring position should be matched to the terminal numbering on the rear case.

The meter includes three programmable user inputs. These can be assigned to functions such as display hold, totalizer reset, batch accumulation, maximum or minimum reset, input tare, display selection, print request, or programme lock-out.

Can the front panel keys be programmed?

Yes. The front panel includes programmable function keys that can be assigned to selected meter functions. Some keys can also have secondary functions that activate after being held for a defined period.

What does an over-range display message indicate?

An over-range display message usually indicates that the measured signal is outside the configured input range or that the input wiring, scaling, or signal level should be checked. The meter can show different messages for signal high, signal low, or display value overflow conditions.
