The Phoenix Contact 3210601, also known as the PTTBS 2,5-TWIN BU, is a blue double-level terminal block designed for compact and organised conductor connections within control panels and electrical installations. Its Push-in connection technology enables quick, tool-free wiring of solid conductors and conductors fitted with ferrules, while the front-facing connection points simplify installation in confined spaces.

This DIN rail-mounted terminal block provides six connections across two levels and accepts conductor sizes from 0.14 mm² to 4 mm² (AWG 26–12). It has a nominal cross-section of 2.5 mm², a nominal current rating of 20 A and a nominal voltage rating of 800 V. Measuring 5.2 mm wide, the 3210601 fits NS 35/7.5 and NS 35/15 mounting rails and includes facilities for testing, bridging and circuit identification. Its compact polyamide housing has a UL 94 V0 flammability rating, making it suitable for space-efficient industrial wiring and distribution applications.

What type of component is this?

It is a blue, double-level DIN rail terminal block designed to distribute and organise electrical connections within compact control panels and electrical enclosures.

Which connection method does this terminal block use?

The terminal block uses Push-in connection technology. Solid conductors and conductors fitted with suitable ferrules can be inserted quickly, helping to reduce wiring effort.

How many levels and connection points does it have?

The 3210601 has two levels and six connection points, allowing multiple conductors to be connected in a compact terminal arrangement.

What conductor sizes can be connected?

It accepts solid and flexible conductors from 0.14 mm² to 4 mm², equivalent to AWG 26 to AWG 12. Flexible conductors fitted with ferrules and plastic sleeves are rated up to 2.5 mm².

What is the nominal cross-section?

The nominal conductor cross-section is 2.5 mm².

What are the electrical ratings?

The terminal block has a nominal voltage rating of 800 V and a nominal current rating of 20 A under IEC data. Its maximum load current is 24 A when used with a 4 mm² rigid conductor under the specified conditions.

Which DIN rails are compatible?

It is designed for mounting on NS 35/7.5 and NS 35/15 DIN rails.

What are the component dimensions?

The terminal block measures 5.2 mm wide, 111.8 mm long and 45.8 mm high. Its installed height is 55 mm on an NS 35/7.5 rail and 62.5 mm on an NS 35/15 rail.

What stripping length is required?

Conductors should be stripped to a length of between 8 mm and 10 mm before insertion.

What material and colour are used?

The insulating housing is made from polyamide and is blue. The insulating material has a UL 94 V0 flammability classification.

Can the upper and lower levels be electrically connected?

Yes. A compatible FBS-PV vertical potential bridge can be used to connect the upper and lower terminal levels.

Can adjacent terminal blocks be bridged together?

Yes. Compatible plug-in bridges with a 5.2 mm pitch are available in multiple position counts, including 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20 and 50 positions.

Does it provide test access?

Yes. The design includes a testing facility in the double function shaft as well as an additional test connection for measurement access.

Which end cover is compatible?

The compatible grey end cover is D-PTTBS 2,5-TWIN, ordering reference 3210608. An end cover is required where the open side of a terminal assembly needs to be enclosed.

Which identification markers can be fitted?

The terminal block accepts marking products intended for a 5.2 mm terminal width, including ZB 5, ZBF 5, UC-TM 5, UCT-TM 5, UC-TMF 5 and UCT-TMF 5 marker formats.

Which standard applies to the terminal connection?

The connection is specified in accordance with IEC 60947-7-1, the standard covering terminal blocks for copper conductors.

  • Compact signal and power distribution within industrial control panels
  • Double-level wiring where high connection density is required
  • Connecting solid and ferruled conductors using push-in technology
