Phoenix Contact 0800396 is a white polyolefin shrink sleeve marker supplied on a roll for efficient cable and conductor identification in industrial electrical applications. Designed for slide-on installation, it fits cable diameters from 0.8 mm to 2.4 mm and provides a 15 x 4 mm marking area, making it well suited to compact, clearly organised labelling requirements.

This halogen-free sleeve has a 3:1 shrink ratio and remains flexible after shrinking, helping to maintain a neat finish around wires and conductors. In addition to creating durable identification, it also adds extra electrical insulation and mechanical protection. The material is suitable for operating temperatures from -55 °C to 125 °C.

The 0800396 marker is supplied without print and is intended for use with compatible Phoenix Contact THERMOMARK printers. Each roll contains 10,000 individual labels arranged with four markers per sleeve and separated by perforations for practical handling and material-efficient use.

What type of product is this?

This is a heat-shrink marking sleeve designed for identifying individual wires or small conductors. It is supplied on a roll in white and is intended to be printed before installation.

What cable size range is it suitable for?

It is intended for cable diameters from 0.8 mm to 2.4 mm, making it suitable for small wire and conductor marking applications.

What is the marking area on each sleeve?

Each individual marker has a lettering field of 15 x 4 mm, giving a compact but practical space for clear wire identification.

Is the sleeve supplied with printing already applied?

No. It is supplied without print, so users can apply their own identification data to suit the application. Phoenix Contact 0800396 is intended for custom labelling.

How many markers are included?

The roll contains 10,000 individual labels, arranged with 4 markers per row. This makes it a strong choice for higher-volume panel building and cable identification work.

How is it fitted onto the wire?

The sleeve uses a slide-on mounting method. The conductor is threaded through the sleeve first, and the sleeve is then fixed in place by shrinking it onto the cable.

What material is it made from?

It is made from polyolefin and is halogen-free. This material is widely used for shrink sleeves because it combines flexibility, durability and good marking performance.

What is the shrink ratio?

The sleeve has a 3:1 shrink ratio, allowing it to reduce significantly in diameter during shrinking for a secure fit over the marked conductor.

Does it stay flexible after shrinking?

Yes. The sleeve remains flexible after shrinking, which helps it perform well on wires that may need neat routing or some movement during assembly.

Can it add protection as well as identification?

Yes. In addition to marking the conductor, the sleeve can provide extra electrical insulation and mechanical protection once shrunk into place.

Which printers can be used to label it?

It can be labelled using several Phoenix Contact systems, including THERMOMARK ROLLMASTER 300/600, THERMOMARK X1.2, THERMOMARK ROLL X1, THERMOMARK ROLL 2.0 and THERMOMARK ROLL.

What operating temperature range is it designed for?

The stated operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C, which suits a broad range of industrial enclosure and wiring environments.

Are the markers separated individually?

They are perforated, with up to four markers per sleeve section separated by perforations. This format helps users make efficient use of the material during preparation and application.

Does it have recognised approvals?

Yes. The sleeve is listed with CSA and UL Recognized approvals, and the product data also references UL 224 and CSA.C22.2 No. 198.1 for 125°C and 600 V tubing performance.

Is the printed surface resistant to wiping?

The product data states wipe resistance in accordance with DIN EN 61010-1, which is useful where durable and legible wire marking is required.

  • Identifying individual wires and small-diameter cables in control panels and electrical cabinets
  • Marking conductors in switchgear, distribution boards and terminal assemblies for clear circuit recognition
  • Creating durable cable identification on machinery and industrial equipment wiring
  • Labelling panel-building and OEM assemblies where neat, consistent wire marking is required
  • Supporting organised wiring in automation systems, including I/O, control and instrumentation connections
  • Providing a practical marker solution for harnesses and pre-assembled cable sets
  • Improving traceability during installation, inspection and future modification of electrical systems
  • Adding a heat-shrink wire marker that also helps give extra insulation and mechanical protection to the conductor
  • Using on compact wiring layouts where a slide-on sleeve is preferred before termination
  • Applying clear identification in manufacturing, process plant and building services electrical installations
