In late 2024, severe flooding devastated the Romagna region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Among the businesses significantly impacted was one of my valued customers. A leading producer of home care products in Italy since 1977. Their facility was completely flooded overnight between the 19th and 20th of October, halting production and putting their operations at serious risk.
The flooding had a catastrophic impact, damaging essential equipment and completely disrupting production. Immediate action was critical if the company was going to survive: the customer urgently required 11 replacement motors to restart production lines and minimise further losses.
As hours threatened to stretch into days, it seemed that there was no hope of them sourcing the sheer amount of equipment needed to recover from such an unforeseen disaster.

Upon first hearing about my customer's situation, I initially questioned whether such a large task would be possible. However, understanding the urgency and magnitude of the crisis, I immediately rallied my colleagues across all departments. Thanks to coordinated efforts and relentless commitment, we were able to rapidly source and deliver 11 crucial motors to the customer in record time, significantly faster than standard procedures.
Thanks to a lot of quick action and the extraordinary teamwork demonstrated by my colleagues, our customer swiftly resumed operations. With their 11 new motors they were able to greatly reduce downtime, mitigate financial impacts and gain the fighting chance they needed to recover from the terrible flooding. My customer was extremely grateful and I was proud to have played a central role in their revival. However, without the fast action and cooperation of my colleagues at EU Automation, the logistics would have been impossible. A true team effort!
