Schneider METSECT5MC040 is a PowerLogic tropicalised current transformer designed for accurate current measurement in electrical distribution and monitoring applications. Rated at 400/5 A with a 5 A secondary output, it supports Class 0.5 accuracy at 8 VA and Class 1 accuracy at 10 VA, making it suitable for metering and instrumentation tasks where dependable current sensing is required. This current transformer is built for use with busbars and cables, with mounting options including DIN rail, mounting plate, busbar installation, clip-on fitting, insulated locking screw or screw fixing. It accommodates cable diameters up to 32 mm and bar openings of 25.5 x 25.5 mm, 40.5 x 10.5 mm and 32.5 x 20.5 mm. The unit has a rated operational voltage below 720 V AC at 50/60 Hz, 3 kV rated insulation and impulse withstand voltage, and a conventional free air thermal current rating of 24 kA. With an IP20 protection rating, Class B electrical insulation and an operating temperature range from -25 to 60 °C, the METSECT5MC040 is suited to panel-based industrial and commercial electrical systems. Its compact frame, 400 g approximate weight and compliance with IEC 61869-2 and VDE 0414 standards make it a practical choice for integration into low-voltage power monitoring assemblies.
