The Beckhoff ES2004 is a four-channel EtherCAT digital output terminal designed to transfer binary control signals from an automation controller to field-level actuators. Each output operates at 24 V DC and supplies up to 0.5 A, making the terminal suitable for switching resistive, inductive and lamp loads in industrial automation systems. Pluggable wiring connections simplify installation and terminal replacement, while LED indicators provide clear visibility of output signal states. Short-circuit-proof outputs and reverse-voltage protection help protect the connected circuitry. Electrical isolation between the E-bus and field potential separates the control and load sides. The ES2004 provides four output bits in the process image and requires no address or configuration settings on the terminal. Its IP20 construction is intended for installation within a suitable enclosure, with an operating temperature range of 0 to +55 °C.
