The Schneider XE2SP3151 is a snap-action limit switch contact block for compatible XCKT assemblies, with ZCT21 listed as its associated body. Part of the XC Standard range, it provides one normally open and one normally closed contact, allowing two control circuits to change state in response to mechanical actuation.

Silver-plated contacts and screw-clamp terminals provide a practical connection arrangement for industrial control wiring. The block incorporates positive-opening operation and supports a minimum actuation speed of 0.01 mm/s.

Rated operational performance includes 3 A at 240 V AC under AC-15 utilisation and 0.27 A at 250 V DC under DC-13 utilisation. Its rated impulse withstand voltage is 6 kV, while the IEC rated insulation voltage is 500 V at pollution degree 3.

The XE2SP3151 is suited to replacing the contact element within a compatible limit switch used for machine position detection or end-of-travel signalling.

What type of component is this?

The XE2SP3151 is a two-pole limit switch contact block from the XC Standard range. It provides the electrical switching contacts within a compatible limit switch assembly rather than functioning as a complete limit switch on its own.

What contact arrangement does it provide?

The block has one normally open contact and one normally closed contact, commonly described as 1NO + 1NC. This arrangement provides two contact states for use in machine control circuits.

How does the snap-action mechanism work?

The snap-action mechanism changes the contact state rapidly once the operating point is reached. The specified minimum actuation speed is 0.01 mm/s.

Which limit switch assemblies is it compatible with?

The datasheet lists compatibility with XCKT limit switches and identifies ZCT21 as the associated body. Check the existing assembly reference and mechanical configuration before selecting this contact block.

What electrical connections does the block use?

It uses screw-clamp terminals. The specified conductor clamping capacity is 1 × 0.34 mm² to 2 × 1.5 mm², allowing conductors to be secured directly at the terminals.

What are the AC and DC switching ratings?

The XE2SP3151 is rated at 3 A at 240 V AC under utilisation category AC-15 and 0.27 A at 250 V DC under DC-13. Its contact rating designations are A300 and Q300 respectively. These ratings should be matched to the circuit voltage and load characteristics.

Does the 10 A thermal rating mean it can switch every 10 A load?

No. The conventional enclosed thermal current rating of 10 A is distinct from the operational switching ratings. Load selection must follow the applicable utilisation category, including the stated AC-15 and DC-13 ratings.

What contact material and resistance are specified?

The block uses silver-plated contacts and has a specified maximum resistance across the terminals of 25 mΩ.

What insulation and impulse withstand ratings are specified?

The rated insulation voltage is 500 V under IEC 60947-1 at pollution degree 3, and 300 V under UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No. 14. The rated impulse withstand voltage is 6 kV. These figures are insulation characteristics, not operational switching ratings.

What short-circuit protection is specified?

The datasheet specifies a 10 A gG cartridge fuse for short-circuit protection. This protective device rating does not replace the need to observe the contact block's operational switching limits.

What electrical endurance is stated?

Electrical endurance is specified as 5 million operating cycles under defined DC-13 test conditions: 120 V at 4 W, 24 V at 10 W, or 48 V at 7 W. These figures apply at an operating rate below 60 cycles per minute and a load factor of 0.5; they are not a universal service-life figure for every application.

Are the listed package dimensions the dimensions of the contact block?

No. The listed measurements of 2.5 cm high, 3.0 cm wide and 3.0 cm long refer to the single-unit packaging. They should not be used to determine the installation space required for the contact block.

  • Replacing contact blocks in compatible XCKT limit switches with a 1NO + 1NC snap-action contact arrangement.
  • Providing position feedback in conveyor systems when fitted within a compatible limit switch assembly.
  • Detecting end-of-travel positions on moving machine components.
  • Switching control circuits in response to mechanical movement on automated production equipment.
  • Indicating mechanism positions in packaging and material-handling machinery.
  • Maintaining compatible ZCT21-based limit switch assemblies where snap-action contacts are required.
