The SICK WL24-2B333 is a compact photoelectric retro-reflective sensor from the W24 series, designed for reliable object detection in industrial automation applications. Using visible red LED light and a polarisation filter, it detects objects by monitoring the reflected beam from a reflector, making it suitable for presence detection, positioning, counting and material handling tasks. This model features a rectangular zinc die-cast metal housing with PMMA optics and an IP67 enclosure rating for demanding factory environments. It offers a sensing range of 0 to 15 m, with a maximum range of up to 22 m when used with the PL80A reflector. The sensor operates from a 10 to 30 V DC supply and provides selectable PNP or NPN switching output, with light-on or dark-on operation selectable via integrated switches. The WL24-2B333 has a response time of ≤ 500 µs and a switching frequency of 1,000 Hz, supporting fast and accurate detection in automated machinery. Adjustment is made via a potentiometer, while an LED signal strength indicator assists with alignment and commissioning. Its 3-pin cubic connector, compact dimensions of 27 mm x 87.5 mm x 65 mm, and robust construction make it a dependable choice for conveyors, packaging equipment, storage systems and general production line sensing.
