Schneider Electric has announced several upcoming lifecycle changes. These changes will affect key product families, including the Harmony XVB series. Also, selected TeSys F, Modicon ABL, and Modicon M258 parts are set to be discontinued over the next 18 months.

Schneider Electric announce Harmony XVB to be discontinued 31 December 2025
The Harmony XVB signaling tower range will reach the end of its lifecycle on 31 December 2025 [1][2]. The XVB series is widely used across various industries. It serves as a staple for machine status indication in both OEM and maintenance applications.
Customers using Harmony XVB modules should start reviewing their installed base. They should also consider migration plans to the successor XVB7 range before the final discontinuation date.

TeSys F series: phased discontinuation of selected products
Schneider’s TeSys F contactor family will also see selected part numbers discontinued by the end of 2025. These include:
- LC1F780Q7 – all regions [3]
- LC1F780 – all regions, except Italy [4]
LC1F780G7, LC1F780P7, LC1F780F7, and LC1F7804 – being discontinued in the United States, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, having already reached end of life in the UK in 2023 [3][4]
For customers with multinational operations, this staggered regional timing highlights the importance of checking lifecycle data per country. A product still active in one market may no longer be available for purchase or replacement in another.
Modicon power supplies and PLCs: lifecycle updates
The Modicon power supply ranges ABLM, ABLS, and ABL8 also have selected products scheduled for discontinuation on 31 December 2025 [5], including:
- ABL8WPS24200 (remains active in France and Spain)
- ABL8WPS24400 (remains active in France and Spain)
- ABL8BPK24A12
- ABL8BPK24A03
- ABL8BPK24A07
Additionally, the Modicon M258 programmable logic controller will be discontinued on 30 June 2026 [6]. While this date is further away, early planning is recommended to minimise production risk. This will help to ensure a smooth migration to successor models.
Why do lifecycle dates vary by region?
Lifecycle announcements often differ from one country to another, even within the same product family. As obsolescence expert Robert Juricic explains:
“Regulatory and certification timing varies by market. Countries follow different compliance calendars such as UKCA versus CE marking, or national transpositions of EU rules. If one market’s deadline hits earlier, the part is pulled there first.”
Juricic also notes that local standards and customer specifications can lead to earlier variant changes. Also, variations in demand and the size of the installed base can also trigger these changes.
“If sales stay healthy or there’s a large installed base in France, Schneider may keep supplying longer there, while the UK exits earlier if demand has already shifted to the successor.”
Differences in supply chain realities can lead to varying outcomes. Factory allocations and stock levels may cause one region to run out sooner than another. Likewise, readiness for successor rollouts and local contractual obligations can influence timing.
