This is the sender unit of an M4000 Standard multi-beam protective sensor system, designed to create multiple infrared beams across an access point or hazardous area.
The device uses three beams with a separation of 400 mm between adjacent beams.
Its configurable scanning range is 0.5 to 70 metres. The lower range covers 0.5 to 20 metres, while the greater range covers 9 to 70 metres.
SICK 1200013 is the sender unit in a sender-and-receiver arrangement. A compatible receiver is required to form the complete protective beam system.
The unit requires a nominal 24 V DC supply and accepts an operating voltage between 19.2 and 28.8 V DC. Its stated current consumption is no more than 0.2 A.
The system connection is an 8-pin male M12 connector. The permitted cable length is up to 15 metres, subject to the load, supply voltage and conductor cross-section.
Configuration is performed using buttons on the unit. LEDs and a seven-segment display provide operating and status information.
The unit has an IP65 enclosure rating and operates between -30°C and +55°C. It can be stored between -30°C and +70°C and is suitable for non-condensing relative humidity from 15% to 95%.
The housing is made from powder-coated aluminium alloy, while the front screen is polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating.
Yes. An integrated laser alignment aid assists with accurately positioning the sender and receiver across the protected span.
The device is rated Type 4 according to IEC 61496-1, SIL 3 according to IEC 61508, Category 4 and Performance Level e according to EN ISO 13849.
The specified safe state requires at least one output signal switching device, or OSSD, to enter the OFF state.
Yes. The scanning range is configurable, allowing the unit to be adapted to different installation distances within its specified operating limits.
The housing includes a sliding-nut groove for side mounting and can be used with compatible rigid, side or swivel mounting brackets.
It is commonly installed around machinery, automated production cells, conveyor access points and other industrial areas where multi-beam access monitoring is required.
