This is an auxiliary switch block designed for use with compatible contactor relays and power contactors. It adds extra signalling and control contacts to an installed contactor.
The switch block provides two leading normally open contacts and two lagging normally closed contacts, corresponding to EN 50005 identification number 22.
It uses snap-on mounting, allowing it to be fitted to a compatible contactor relay or motor contactor without a separate mounting plate.
The 3TX4422-2G has screw-type terminals for connecting conductors in the auxiliary and control circuits.
The terminals accept finely stranded conductors with suitable end preparation in configurations of 2 x 0.5–1.0 mm² or 2 x 0.75–2.5 mm². The corresponding AWG range is 2 x 18–12.
The component measures 45 mm wide, 24 mm high and 25 mm deep.
The front of the auxiliary switch block is rated IP20, providing protection against contact with fingers and similarly sized solid objects.
The specified operating temperature range is -25°C to +55°C. For storage, the permitted range is -55°C to +80°C.
The typical mechanical service life is 10,000,000 switching cycles when the component is used within its specified operating conditions.
The rated insulation voltage is 690 V at pollution degree 3, while the rated surge withstand voltage is 6 kV.
For AC-12 applications, the contacts are rated at up to 10 A. Under AC-15 conditions, the ratings include 10 A at 24 V, 5.6 A at 230 V, 3.6 A at 400 V and 2.3 A at 690 V.
For DC-12 use, the ratings are 4 A at 24 V, 1.1 A at 110 V and 0.5 A at 220 V. For DC-13 use, the ratings are 10 A at 24 V, 5 A at 60 V, 1.14 A at 110 V and 0.48 A at 220 V.
Yes. The contact arrangement provides positively driven operation in accordance with IEC 60947-5-1.
Typical applications include adding status indication, electrical interlocking, control sequencing and feedback contacts to compatible contactor relays and motor contactors.
Check that the host contactor is mechanically compatible, that the required 2 NO and 2 NC contact arrangement is suitable, and that the circuit voltage, utilisation category, current rating, conductor size and ambient temperature remain within the stated limits.
